Brass Jhula Medium

A brass swing designed to hold your Krishna idol and gently rock it during Janmashtami and daily pooja. Brass Jhula Medium is a standing brass swing, or cradle, built specifically to seat a Krishna idol rather than function as pooja decor alone. It has a scalloped backrest, a flat seating base, and hangs from two vertical posts using brass chains, with a tasseled pull-cord attached so the swing can be rocked by hand during aarti. Product Highlights • Functional swinging cradle : Designed to physically rock, not just display, an idol placed inside it, supported by a pull-cord and tassel. • Scalloped backrest design : The curved brass backrest adds a decorative shape while supporting the idol from behind. • Medium size for standard idols : Sized to hold small to mid-sized Krishna idols in the right proportion, neither overwhelming nor too small. • Sturdy standing structure : Rests on its own base with vertical posts, so it doesn't need to be hung from a ceiling or shelf. • Chain-suspended seat : The seating platform hangs securely on brass chains, allowing a smooth rocking motion during rituals. • Central to Janmashtami tradition : Used specifically for the jhula or cradle ceremony that's part of many Janmashtami celebrations. Why Choose Kansa & Clay Heritage Kitchen Brass Jhula Medium? • Built for actual ritual use : Unlike static idol stands, this jhula is made to be rocked, keeping it true to the tradition it's meant for. • Right-sized for common idol formats : Its medium size avoids the mismatch of an idol that's too large or too small for the swing. • A reusable festive piece : Rather than a one-time festival prop, it can be kept as part of your regular pooja setup and brought out again each year. • Sturdy enough for repeated rocking : The chain and post structure is built to handle regular movement without loosening over time. • Adds a devotional focal point : Its structured form naturally draws attention as the centerpiece of a Janmashtami setup. • Recognised across Krishna worship traditions : The jhula ritual is followed in various forms across both South and North Indian Janmashtami celebrations. Frequently Asked Questions • What is the purpose of a brass jhula during Janmashtami? It is used to seat a Krishna idol and gently rock it during pooja, following the tradition of cradling baby Krishna, especially observed during Janmashtami celebrations. • What size of Krishna idol fits this medium jhula? It is designed for small to mid-sized idols, such as standard Laddu Gopal figures, keeping the proportions balanced between the idol and the swing. • Can this jhula be used outside of Janmashtami, for daily pooja? Yes, many households keep the jhula as part of their regular pooja setup and use it beyond the festival, not just during Janmashtami. • How do I rock the jhula without damaging the chains or structure? Use the attached tasseled pull-cord to gently move the swing, avoiding sudden or forceful pulls that could strain the chains over time. • How should I clean and maintain a brass jhula? Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth regularly, and use a mild brass cleaner occasionally to maintain its shine, taking care around the chain joints and moving parts.
