Frequently Asked Questions 1. Does this cast iron kadai need to be seasoned before first use? Yes. Like most raw cast iron cookware, it benefits from seasoning before first use, oiling it and heating it a few times to build a natural non-stick layer. 2. Is cast iron cookware suitable for induction cooktops? Yes. Cast iron works well on induction cooktops, along with gas stoves, unlike some other traditional cookware. 3. How is this different from the brass jalebi tray set? This set includes a cast iron kadai, which handles high heat differently and needs seasoning, while the other set uses a brass tray with a tin-lined interior. Both come with the same brass skimmer and suit similar festival frying needs. 4. Will this kadai rust if not dried properly? Yes, cast iron can rust if left wet or unseasoned for long. Drying it fully after washing and applying a thin layer of oil helps prevent this. 5. Is this kadai heavy to handle while frying? It's heavier than brass or aluminium cookware of a similar size, which is common for cast iron and also helps it hold heat evenly while frying.
