Frequently Asked Questions
•
How much coffee or tea does each container hold?
Each container holds about 350 ml. That fits a standard 250 g pack of filter coffee powder, or a little less of loose tea leaves.
•
Are the lids airtight?
No. The lids fit closely but are not airtight. To keep coffee fresh for longer, store the containers in a cool, dry spot and use the contents within a few weeks.
•
Why are there two containers?
Most people use one for coffee and one for tea. Others keep coffee in one and sugar in the other, so both are within reach while making a cup.
•
What else can I store in them?
They work for sugar, jaggery powder, whole spices, cardamom, cloves or dry fruits. Small snacks and sweets fit well too.
•
Why is the lower half hammered?
The hammered texture gives a better grip and hides small scratches from daily use. Since it is done by hand, no two containers have the same pattern.
•
Can I keep the containers next to the stove?
Keep them a little away from the stove. Heat and steam can bring moisture in under the lid, and that makes coffee powder and tea lose their flavour faster.
