Wooden Balaji Haldi Kumkum Box Pair, Set of 2 Pairs

This is a set of four lacquered wooden boxes, made up of two matching yellow-red pairs, in the Etikoppaka style of turned-wood lacquer craft by artisans in Andhra Pradesh. Each box has a domed lid over a narrow neck and a rounded base, hand-painted with floral and dot detailing in the traditional Balaji box style. With two full pairs in the set, it suits anyone who needs more than one haldi-kumkum box, whether that's for two separate pooja spaces at home or for handing out as Navratri return gifts or golu return gifts to more than one guest. Product Highlights • Set of 2 Pairs, 4 Boxes Total - Two matching yellow-red pairs are included, so there's enough for two separate haldi-kumkum setups or two gifts. • Colour-Matched to Function - Within each pair, yellow holds haldi and red holds kumkum, so the two are easy to tell apart at a glance. • Domed, Figure-Style Silhouette - A rounded knob lid over a narrow neck and a wider base gives each box a distinct shape rather than a flat dabba. • Etikoppaka Turned-Wood Craft - Made using the Etikoppaka Bommalu technique, where wood is turned on a lathe before shaping and painting, a craft practised by artisans in Andhra Pradesh. • Hand-Painted Floral Work - Floral and dot patterns are painted by hand across the lid and body of each box. • Small, Light Build - Each box is about 8 cm in height and 3.5 cm in width, weighing close to 30 grams, around 120 grams for all four together. Why Choose This Wooden Balaji Haldi Kumkum Box Set of 2 Pairs • Supports Etikoppaka Artisans - Buying this set supports the turned-wood lacquer craft and the artisan families in Andhra Pradesh who keep it going. • Enough for Two Gifts or Two Setups - With two pairs included, you can keep one for home and gift the other, or hand out both as separate return gifts. • Doubles as a Daily Pooja Item - Unlike purely decorative return gifts, these boxes keep getting used for haldi and kumkum long after the festival. • No Guessing Which Box is Which - The yellow-red colour split within each pair settles that on sight. • A Look That Reads as Handmade - The hand-painted finish and domed shape set it apart from plain steel or plastic dabbas most households already own. Frequently Asked Questions • How many boxes come in the Wooden Balaji Haldi Kumkum Box Pair, Set of 2? Four boxes in total, made up of two matching pairs, each pair with one yellow box for haldi and one red box for kumkum. • Can the two pairs be split and given as separate gifts? Yes. Since each pair is complete on its own, they work well as two individual Navratri or golu return gifts, or one for home use and one to gift. • Is this set made using Etikoppaka craft? Yes. It is made using the Etikoppaka Bommalu technique, a turned-wood lacquer craft from Andhra Pradesh where wood is shaped on a lathe and finished with hand-painted colour. • Is this a practical choice for bulk Navratri or golu return gifts? Yes. With four small, light boxes in one set, it's easy to divide across multiple gifts without adding much to packing or shipping cost. • How should the boxes be cleaned? Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid soaking them in water, which can dull the lacquer finish over time.
